Title: My new Wolfsburg Wagon
Post by: Seoul-mate on January 23, 2016, 12:32:27
Hi All
Picked up my new 2 Litre VW Golf R Wolfsbug Edition Wagon yesterday. Have not had a chance to take any good photos yet so have just added a generic one, below, in the same colour as mine.
Apparently it will do 0 to 100 km/h quicker than the recently released Australian version of the V8 Ford Mustang, so looking forward to some interesting drives.
Russ

You Lucky bugger, congrats on the new wheels...  :goodjob2:

What's the emissions rating? :whistler:

Who cares with a car like that. Most likely a lot less than the V8 Ford Mustang...

I thought it may have been the same 2ltr turbo engine used in the Holden Astra VXR but the Astra has an extra 20Nm ( 400Nm @ 2400 - 4800rpm ) torque at 206kw @ 5300rpm.

The VW is lighter though which works to it's advantage in the 0 - 100km and fuel consumption :goodjob: Nice car Seoul-mate :goodjob2:

Quad exhausts = extra

Looking forward to more pictures and a report!

f**k, I get so annoyed when I see what cars cost around the World. Only 58.990 AUD !

Here that car cost "only" 676.400 DKK which is around 139.800 AUD...  :faint:  I just hate our car taxes. :disapp:

That's a crazy price Henning.
But I'm told those prices negate the need for some other taxes as well as providing a high standard of living. Is that true? Or are we being misled down here?

Wow Henning, that is an amazing price!!

The Australian government is considering future police pursuit vehicles and there is a possibility that they may use the Golf R Wagon......

Propably not Trev. We have free health care and free education, things I really value, but I think it's crazy we need to pay those prices for new cars. When I bought my i30 it was 3 years old with 125.000 km, it came at the nice price of 130.000 DKK ca 27.000 AUD. I believe you can get a brand new i30 for that price.

Yep.  :disapp:  You can imagine why we have so many VW UP and Toyota Aygo/Citroen C1 on our roads... :undecided:

Of those choices, yours is probably the best combo of cost, economy and performance. I'd have one!  :victory:

Looks like the same article, perhaps more readable.

http://www.geelongadvertiser.com.au/news/national/police-hit-speed-bump-to-replace-ford-falcon-and-holden-commodore-highway-patrol-cars/news-story/b8a622241122c9ebd30c8420665d61e1 (http://www.geelongadvertiser.com.au/news/national/police-hit-speed-bump-to-replace-ford-falcon-and-holden-commodore-highway-patrol-cars/news-story/b8a622241122c9ebd30c8420665d61e1)

As you will see from the article, won't be the Australian Government. Each state will go their own way.....
