Title: Novocastrian new i30 owner
Post by: sjc1608 on January 25, 2016, 18:23:34
Hi all, bought 2011 1.6L diesel auto 2 weeks ago, never owned i30 before, never owned diesel before... loving both combined! Have quite a few friends recommending the i30 which swayed us over Toyota Corolla / Mazda 3. Very roomy inside compared to other hatches and just wants to go. Hope it attains mileage as I've read about. Have already found this site very useful with replies to my other post about dpf oil.
Happy driving people :P

Ditto. Glad you like your i30 Diesel, Like you, I had never owned either an i30 or a diesel, and having had it for just six days now, I can most assuredly say I would never go back to a petrol engine again.

Just loving the smooth power delivery and unbelievable grunt - 1300 rpm at 80km/h, and it just gets up and goes when you floor it.

Have you thought about getting one of those diesel fuel caps that prevent a petrol nozzle being inserted? I've got one, and it is gives me piece of mind.

They are a wise investment Steve I will definitely get one if I buy another diesel in the future.

Yes I'm at more risk of misfueling a petrol car at work.....Not that you can do that.

Funny story; I was refulling a diesel car at 4am and the lady at the console couldn't make the fuel card work. 'Oh, I see whats happened she said in a smart voice, its unleaded, you've put the wrong fuel in'. As I sat there trying to work out how a person who drives exclusively diesel cars could do that she said 'oh hang on, your pump 4, I hit the wrong button'.  :whistler:
