Title: Rear wiper replacement?
Post by: richierich on February 18, 2016, 06:42:50
Can the rear wiper rubber be replaced or does the whole blade need replaced?
Have tried to remove the rubber but the end clips won't come off and can't work out how to remove the wiper blade.
The front blades remove easily by push button but how is the rear blade removed?

I got mine off and replaced it by disrtorting the blade rubber a bit and pulling the ends inward.
Can you post a photo of your rear wiper and if it's like mine I'll do  couple of pics showing how to do it.

You can buy the whole arm quite cheap.
I got a genuine Hyundai one off ebay for around $7.30 including postage from South Korea to Australia...  :)

It might be worth your while checking out your local ebay...  :undecided:

Plenty of info if you put "rear wiper" in the search box :whistler:

Thanks for your replies.
Found out that the wiper blade simply pulls out from the arm, with a little brute force! Have ordered another and am confident to fit myself.   :victory:

It has been some months since you ordered - are you happy with the quality of the product you received from this ebay seller? I'm looking to order as I found the rear blade rubber has already split.

^ I also ordered one. It's superior to the factory fitted one, imho.

Thanks both. Considering it's just over two years old, I'm surprised to see how badly the rubber has perished and split compared with the fronts. I spoke with a dealership parts department on Friday and was told they sell more rear wipers than fronts.

HY's price for a single rear wiper blade is £19. The triple set (2 x front, 1 x rear) from the same eBay seller is available for £14. :goodjob:

Hellooo,

Same issue as past posts, rear wiper blade rubber gone to heaven. Any links for an Aussie purchase of a new blade? Supercheap, Autobarn, Repco no joy. I want to avoid my local dealer so am now trawling the net. It is for an i30 GD SE Coupe 3dr 6sp 1.6litre petrol 2013 model.

If I find anything, I will be sure to post the details so as to help other members.

Thanks

Mine was an FD but as I said above, it's a simple job to slide the blade out of the arm and replace it with a replacement.
Back then I had a look at a GD in the street and it was the same.
Not sure about the three door version.
@CraigB should be able to tell you.

Another post that has been removed, Bubblinky was asking about a GD rear wiper blade in a topic for FD parts.
