Not me.   But surely they would be covered by the OEM 5y/Unlimited km warranty.   That is assuming the appropriate services were done in compliance with service schedule to get it valid.

Assuming the warranty is still valid - maybe they would be one of the exceptions... I just don't know.

Way too few K's to have worn out wheel bearings.
Any evidence she's had a swim?

Can't say wheel bearings have been an issue with the i30.

What is the issue that caused the diagnosis and who diagnosed it?

I mean occasionally a part gets through that isn't up to scratch, but both front?

There's been plenty of flooding in Oz, those cars must be somewhere. Check your glove box for a watermark

If it is water related, perhaps the car was driven into the water, and the driver retreated before doing any insurance related harm.

All cars that are written off due to flood become statutory write-offs and cannot be re registered.

Water damage criteria
Where the internal cabin of a vehicle is inundated with any water
(fresh, salt and/or brackish water) such that the internal cabin water
level rises above the level of the inner door sill for any period the
vehicle is to be classifi ed as a SWO.

Well I guess you could damage the bearings by driving through a flooded street

I drove my Renault R12 (front wheel drive) through numerous creek crossings during rallies (competing, surveying, reporting) without ever damaging the wheel bearings.
