Tha caravan is 1050 kg empty and 1350 kg max weight (G.V.M?). The car is rated to tow 1400 kg braked. I believe in OZ it's only rated to 1200 kg for some strange reason.

Yep :P. Our summer vacations mostly goes to Croatia, a trip of 3500-4000 km total through Germany, Austria, Slovenia entering Croatia. Have to pass the Alps, even when we go to Italy now and then. Have towed the caravan about 20.000 km the last 5 years :mrgreen:

I have noticed that some passenger lifts are powered the same way... geriatric gerbils if the speed of operation is any indication.

FYI Gonz parks his i30 at a slight distance to his place of residence.
