Hi there,
Just bought my first Hyundai so at the bottom of the learning curve. I'd like to get some mud flaps, front and back, but a quick search through eBay has left me confused. Does anyone know the correct part number for mud flaps for a 2016 5 door hatch?

I had the mud flaps fitted to my car when I bought my new GD in 2012. I find they do very little as they are so short that they barely deflect anything to be honest. It's up to you if you want them for the look, but you won't get much protection.

I find they work good, true they're not very wide but still large enough to deflect rocks away from the bodywork.

Randomly, the mudflaps arrived Sunday afternoon (on a bank holiday weekend). As the eBay ad said they are genuine Hyundai. Took under an hour to fit, that includes jacking up each side to get a bit of extra room around the rear tyres.

Has the fitting of the mudflaps reduced the amount of dirt that deposits on the rear of the car?

After having a motorbike as my only transport for 12 years...
I'm very critical that vehicles in Europe don't come with decent mudguards as standard.
Rooster-tails might look good on marketing material. However, rooster-tails have no place on wet Motorways!
All that happens is that water droplets are flung into the air and hang in the air turbulence which obscures vision for everyone and makes breathing difficult for riders. I've also been winded & bruised by a stone years ago being flung-up by a vehicle.
I've always complained to anyone who will listen that vehicles should come as standard with mudguards to reduce rooster-tails and put the water back where it should be - on the ground. And to stop stones being flung at other following vehicles. So because of my stance - when I purchased my i30 I **had** to install mudguards...
But in my opinion the Hyundai i30 mudguards are really only for aesthetic purposes only as they are too small to do much. They wouldn't stop mud/stones from being flung-up and hitting towed trailers/caravans etc... They stop some road-grime from attaching to the lower panel-work but don't stop all. Doesn't stop the rear of the vehicle getting dirty from dust/water because the i30 (at least my GD Tourer) isn't that aerodynamically clean.
