Hi i have a 2010 i30 Wagon and for the past few months i have had a very loud buzzing sound coming from my drivers side rear door actuator whenever the car is locked (either from remote locking or HALO). The door lock still functions 100% but the sound is very loud and its about time i did something about it. Hyundai quoted me over $600 to replace it, with something like $350 for new actuator plus 2 hours labour from memory. I decided that $350 was too much and sourced one from a wreckers online for $65..
1. did i do the right thing in buying a new lock or is there an easier fix than replacement
2. do i attempt to DIY it (am moderately okay when it comes to this stuff) or do i take it to and auto-electrician/Hyundai
3. If i go the DIY route can someone help me with how to replace the door lock actuator (interactions, youtube etc)
Could not find much in regards to this
Thanks in advance

Yeah but i couldn't miss the opportunity :happydance: :happydance:
@matt.shep you could take a leisurely run up the New England and get it installed at Tamworth Hyundai. I've heard they've got a guy there who is pretty decent. And 2hrs is twice what it should take.
