so i notice some show their plates in pics - and some don't
apart from personal privacy choice is there actually any 'rules' regarding this?

Hi snowcherry.. About half our members seem concerned about "identity theft" I guess you would call it and others (like myself) aren't ..
It is a personal choice... I figure thousands of Tasmanian see my number plate each year .. so can't see the point of hiding it on here...

I'm with Dazz - doesn't concern me one jot

As pointed out, it's a personal choice.
Like using your credit card on the net; some do, some don't.
Like taking your bikini top off on a Bondi beach; some do, some don't.
There is no right answer, only options.
I prefer to leak as little personal information as possible intentionally (though it happens accidentally a lot) to the internet.

I must have been there on the wrong day then :P

I show mine, and my handle is my rego number. But that's the extend of specific information I provide. Everything else I generalise as much as possible.
I don't really see the harm in people seeing my rego number, like Dazz said, people on the road see it all the time.
