^ that was superb.

I like the interior lights near the rear door grab handles.

I see Hyundai still insist on those horrible hard plastic backs on the front seats....  :crazy1:

One thing I am happy with is the lack of high gloss black plastics (except for the surrounds of the media player) like they used on the centre console in the i40...
It might look classy when new but soon looks like crap after wiping dust off it a few times...  :undecided:

I've been awaiting the turbo petrol hatch but I'm hoping it looks better in real life. It would appear the changes make it look like pretty much everything else on the road now.  All the nice i30 styling touches seem entirely absent.

Be interested to see how it drives too of course. When its available I'll need to take one for a spin and see  how many motorbikes I can cut off.  :D

My thought exactly, except the motor bike bit...

Agree - not a fan of the new shape...  Overall seems a reminiscence of the original before 2012 styling.

I hope they use interior plastics that don't mark & scratch as easily.

What a pitty!Back to the past.
Looks like The 2007 model only with facelift.
Wowwww they invented the accent again.
I was expecting something really beautyfull since the 2012 was really excellent when revealed.
But this looks like the first I30 before 2012
Not the sport design the 2012 had with the nerves and muscles on the body edges etc
Also reminds me Peugeot 308 or golf 7 or BMW series1 classic design not the fresh thing the 2012 still has

But...
wait a minute ...just found that :link: Hyundai i30 2017: primeros datos y fotos - Autopista.es (http://www.autopista.es/novedades-coches/articulo/hyundai-130-2017-primeros-datos-fotos)
Maybe this is the hatchback. Then it might be nice....

Thanks for the link Nickross. Some of the photos look the same as the video. Others look a bit more sporty? I think it will grow on us over time.

I like this new shape actually. I reckon it is classy & stylish, yet mature & refined also. It appears to have grown 1/2 a size too - leaving room for a more youthful & stylish up-sized i20 or Accent in the near future?
The i30 is 10 years old... perhaps its fans age with the i30 brand & may appreciate the styling once they get to see it in the metal.
I really think the GD was a styling leader - This one is too!

Also, styling changes are tweaked slightly by subtle changes to detail for different markets - we may well get a look that is more aligned with what we are used to in Oz.
Looking forward to the launch in Oz. Pricing & specs will to be spot on for this market... Hyundai are pretty good at sorting that!

To me the shape is like Golf meets the Tucson. The front grill reminds me more of a Mondeo though. Looks fine to me.

It's already growing on me. It is conservative but a very balance design.

All these comparisons will inevitably name every small car on the market.

Who can find some Megane and even Clio in the shape
