Title: Broken drivers window support i30
Post by: risc527 on September 12, 2016, 13:49:25
Wound down the drivers window today and clunk would not come back up again. Typical was raining as well :crazy1:.

Took the door panel off this afternoon thanks to instructions posted on this forum thank you. Turns out the bracket supporting the window had broken on one side. The plastic which attaches it to the runner on the panel had sheared off. Anyone had this before?

Is it possible to replace these. How do they attached to the door panel runner?

Have managed to hold the window up for now with cable ties but is permenantly closed for now :'(

Can't recall this before but is the car still in warranty?

If so just let hy fix it.

Wow, crazy that it is made of plastic, although not a common problem. Maybe a photo of the damaged area/ part would help up suggest fixes. Hopefully someone knows the trick. Wreckers yard might be a start?

I just downloaded the 3D printer thingy for the window clip.
Perhaps, given time I'll have a go at making one on one of the 3D printers I inherited from my brother...  :undecided:
