Hey all
Thought you might appreciate a couple of shots of my new digital SLR.
It's a Sony Alpha 200 which came with an 18-70mm lens and I have bought an additional 70-300mm zoom by Sigma to go with her. Really pleased and hope to get out an about soon to give her a proper try out

Ahh but you forget I am from Scotland, camera list price £400, bumpkin trawls around until he finds a model in a sale at £247 but the shop has none in stock and won't be getting anymore in, however willing to sell ex-display with 10% discount. Cool says bumpkin, I'll go for that, hold on says shop we appear to have lost the battery pack, bumpkin having done homework knows that he can get a battery off ebay for £10 delivered, however camera shop charges £60!
"How much without the battery" says I, mutter, mumble "£180". Done.
Then another ebay job for the brand new Sigma lens at £120 delivered so all in the entire lot cost me £310. Bargain, especially since the lens was paid for by birthday money  :D :D

Wow, that's big!

Gee yours is bigger than mine Brian .. (but mine goes further 486mm :P)
But seriously m8 very impressive (wonder what I'll get for my Birthday later this month )

i'm impressed by both the camera and the haggling to aquire it :D
well done!

Nice work Bumpkin
I'm a Canon person myself and was really hoping to get my hands on the new 7D before a recent airshow, alas it didn't make it in time so I had to opt for the 50D (a step lower than the 7D but higher than my previous/now backup 450D)
My big lens is the Sigma 120-400 f4.5-5.6. But I'm hoping before I go to Wanaka next year I'll have the Canon 100-400L.
Regards
Daniel

Thinking of a new Canon 7D......hmmm :P
-
The 7D is basically the 50D with movie mode. So if you don't want the movie function
the 50D is better value.
-
Umm no definitely would like the movie function....
