Title: Thoughts on the current santa fe / sorrento ?
Post by: PiL on October 21, 2016, 05:15:56
Been contemplating updating the i30 to a larger car. Basically my number 1 and 2 are the santa fe and sorrento.

If i was buying something today, it would probably be the series 2 santa fe highlander as it's well into it's life cycle and brimming with gear.
If i was buying  a year or two from  now it would probably be the sorrento platinum when it updates it's next model cycle.

Any experience with the current models by people here?
My biggest problem at the moment is that i cant find out online if the diesel has a dpf. Seems like a lot of conflicting info.

In Australia the DM Santa-fe does NOT have a dpf.

I will let others review the vehicle as i am extremely biased for reasons :)

Id love a Santa Fe Active in the 2.2 CRDi 6 spd manual! Higher towing capacity as well!

I would  wait for the Kia, basically the same under the skin, extra 2 years of warranty and less popular so better chance of screwing the stealer.

But I would keep an eagle eye on carsales for the Hyundai, because occasionally you can pick up a cheap one if you know what you want, are willing to move quickly, and willing to take an old one.

Im actually leaning towards the next iteration of the sorrento. The current model is definitely a beauty and hope the next is even better.

I bought my i30 from a dealer because they were so hard to find, but the one before that was through a broker.
I think I'll go through a broker again next time.
