Title: defective headlight motor

 Hi I,ve had a headlight unit replaced and after a few weeks I noticed the light beam is out of alignment .I returned the car to the garage and they said I needed a new motor. As I have never of this problem before has anyone else come across this. I have a 6yr old 1.4 i30

I take it you are talking about the headlight motor to alter the height you can do with the switch by your right knee..

So wondering was the unit ok after all and motor the issue all along?

Suppose you'll never know unless you have the old one or the garage still have it.

Have they offered any explanation why unit replaced?

Also, when new unit installed do you know whether they aligned the beam and motor working?



i know on the i10 they had iffy motors which had to be replaced.  not heard on i30

Hi The reason the headlight was changed was because it had been damaged,I was told about the motor after they realigned the headlight when it was highlighted that alignment was out.The initial realignment was caused as they hadn,t connected the motor properly,But was OK to pass the MOT. when I realised the problem had returned I was told the motor needed replacing,as it must of been OK to pass its MOT
