Title: Cost of adding towbar to cw
Post by: Shirt on October 21, 2009, 12:08:31
Query for Australian i30 drivers- has anyone else received a quote from a hyundai service centre of $900 for a towbar to be installed on a new i30 wagon?

Sorry, don't have the CW but mine cost about half that when installed on my i30 hatchback.

thanks for your responses.  would there be any problems do you think if I got another place to install a different towbar, quotes from Roofrack city are half that amount.

I think my hatch tow bar was quoted at A$500-A$600 before I got them to throw it in as part of the deal...

i was quoted $600 but that was over one year ago still for a tow bar like what they fit it seemed overpriced i think the time and trouble they need to go to add's to the cost as they have to remove the rear of the car almost to fit. normally with a tow bar it only takes half hour or so then wiring up but this could take an hour or two so would depend on hourly rate.
and how good the wrench is doing the job also if he smokes.

 I've seen some fitters work so fast they burn up, never mind smoke :D

But they weren't Hyundai fitters though :P
