Its been 2-3 months since the new i30 was viewed by most of the world. Yet there seems to be no more info, reports, road tests or reviews since.

Could be due to industrial action in Korea slowing down initial production. I recently read that Hyundai are diversifying their production outside Korea as the unions there are very militant (and they have been quite bad this year)
I'm sure things will ramp up in the new year. They are doing runout sales here in OZ (of the current model)

Interesting Dazzler. This will no doubt make for a 'fast release' of the new model then as existing stocks won't last too long.
This is unlike Holden, who are doing 'slow releases' of their future imported product now that Holden manufacturing in Oz has almost stopped, in a desperate attempt to retard slipping market share in Oz.

Yes, be interesting to see!

as said in another thread I just finished reading a four page artical in a motoring magazine, but sadly it was an english mag that a friend has just bought back from his trip OS

Thanks for the links tohis! Google translate even does a reasonable job of translating the 2nd one. :goodjob:

Found another Oz news item, its dated but some may not have seen it yet...

Launch mid 2017? I expected earlier than that! :undecided:
-
Yes Q1 release seems unlikely - but will existing stocks last into Q2.
Another article...

I really like the collision avoidance safety kit on the new i30. Just hoping Oz versions will get at least some of it on base models.

Thanks for the links. The next few months will be interesting for us i30 folks!
-
Yes an interesting time for sure :-)

There are now several reviews published in recent days, and probably more can be found by googling. As always, there seem to be the usual bashing about being a dull car having gutless feeling engines and plastic interior and sluggish steering, and how perfect the Gooooolf is in this and that thing...

Looks like in Australia we'll get the turbo petrol 1.6ltr and the 2.0ltr (non turbo base model) and the 1.6 turbo diesel, then later in the year we'll get the i30N 220kw.
The 1.4ltr turbo petrol is unconfirmed at this stage for Australia.

Thanks for sharing tohis.
Got to laugh at their comments about the GD i30, especially about its styling - pfft.
