Title: i30 CRDi Engine Vibration
Post by: tw2005 on December 23, 2016, 00:31:32
I love this car, hell if I got something dearer and in better condition  I'd have nothing to do or talk about.

Both my High K diesels have a fair amount of engine vibration when pushed through the floor and steering column.

The  i30CW was particularly bad.   Inspecting the main engine mount RHS, I noticed it was sitting on the large rubberised plate or washer.

Normally there's clearance between that and the base, how much I'm not sure but with the new one installed it's more that 5mm.

There's about 3 numbers listed and it appears petrol / diesel use same mount. 21810-0Q000 as an  example

218102H000      01.12.2007 - 13.02.2008  $54 USD
218102L000      13.02.2008 - 15.06.2009  $34 USD
218100Q000      15.06.2009 - 06.08.2012  $52 USD

So if you want OEM about $90 USD delivered at most

These are fluid filled. There's no fluid escape but on the bottom there appears to be a rubber diaphram or sack.

On the collapsed mount this has has filled and expanded on the new one there's nothing in it and deflated.

I suspect this catches any rupture but maybe someone out there knows for sure as I'm speculating..

REPCO wanted $150, Hyundai $350, OEM from Korea $70 -90 USD delivered , or I went with a FEBEST HYM-ENMTRH (218100Q000).

Quality looks ok and huge difference at only $40 delivered off Ebay.

Will see how it lasts .

I remember the left engine mount coming off my 83 Commodore once. I called the RAA guy and showed him in to the workshop I was running at the time. He bent and drilled me a plate to see me through until I bought and fitted a new one myself, complete with high tensile bolts. Just 2 guys in a big military workshop on the late shift improvising with aviation grade material.  :D
