Title: Buzzing / Grinding Noise when locking
Post by: dammit on December 23, 2016, 10:57:56
Greetings all,
I have a 2012 Trophy i30, which has just developed a new problem.

When I lock the car, I hear this horrid grinding/buzzing noise coming out of the rear passenger side door handle area. I did some searching on the forum and it seems this means it needs a new actuator or something...and that the lock is skipping teeth and making the noise.

It still locks OK - but is this anything to worry about re: the lock failing and potentially a security issue for the car???

It is still under warranty, so I'm guessing it will be covered, just know it will probably take a while to get into the dealer to get this fixed given the holidays.

Not an uncommon problem.
Yes get it replaced under warranty.
Will it spoil your Xmas, no.
My wife complained about the same noise on her 2009 FD about a year ago; still works ok,
I will change it this week.....Probably :whistler:
