Title: What is this beneath the backseat?

We got a new lawnmower yesterday And to fit it in my car I had to flatten the backseats. Then I noticed a sqaure in the carpet with a black thingy on. I pulled it up and saw this wire. Is it to power the taillights?

That is where the fuel pump is and fuel filter is located.

Maybe thats why we can fit so much in over the click-off when re-fueling! It's halfway up the car lol
