Title: Strutbar
Post by: tzwientjuh on July 03, 2008, 15:17:41
Looking for a strutbar for my i30. Just to make it nicer ;)
Probalbly I'll have to use an universial one.
But here in Belgium, there are difficult to find and it is legal to use ...
Does someone has a tuningdealer with strutbars in his neighbourhood?

Hi Nick,

Is a "strut bar" a brace that goes between the top of the two front struts to reduce flexing and tighten up the handling? You might need to search under a few different names to find one (unless someone on here knows a good link.....)

I have a friend here in Tassie that got one for his 2003 Elantra but probably got it locally.

Rgds,

Dazz

In England we call it a strut brace. You can buy adjustable ones. It's just a matter of finding one that fits the i30!

That's just the problem! I can't find a good shop here in Belgium. Neither a good online shop. I've searched many sites and they had only a few ones for a small amount of car.

This is a nice site: http://www.onlinetuning.com/
But only 18 bars and no universal ones

You could probably get one fabricated by a metal working shop then tidy it up and spray it yourself....

Just take some photos of one you like the look of or do some drawings then give them some accurate measurements. Get a few prices from different places should find one that would enjoy the challenge! 8-)

Not a bad idea Dazz  ;)

I'm gonna measure it some time later. Make some drawings and share with everyone here.
