Ok , Which is the most popular model choice. I am predicting Deisel Slx.
Please vote and than tell us why you picked that particular model and spec.
I gave an other option for our overseas members as there seems to be many different and wonderful option not offered in OZ.
I picked Deisel for its fuel economy and for the extra punch.
The SLX appealed as a package. I love the trip computer being a bit of a stats nut. I also prefer the leather steering wheel over the the rubber one offered on the SX. Having a young family, the added safety of the side and curtain airbags also appealed.
Cheers

Hi Eyma...
Much the same reasons as you... although subject to our budget think a few of us would have gone an SR if they came in diesel. (including you?)
-
Your right Dazz.
I would of gone SR if it had beens available in Deisel. I love the wheels on the SR and wouldnt of than gone and put after-market 18's on the SLX. Also like the body kit but might still put a kit on it at sometime down the track. The only other option i would have liked is full leather trim but neither the SR or SLX offered us that, At least not in this country....sigh
-
Hi Eyma,
I guessed as much... The leather cloth combo works o/k for Tassie (leather seats a bit cold in the winter down here) although they were o/k in my Late Stepdad's Saab Aero Turbo I recently sold (3 different heat settings..) I also like the SR mags a lot although the SLX mags suit the i30 quite well (I.M.O.)
Cheers,
Dazz

I have an 1.4 engine

I would like to vote but can't as UK models are not listed.
Can you please list UK models and I'll cast a vote.
See link for models

Thanks

Once a poll is made, it can not be changed !!! If you do, the poll will go crazy
I've did it before, and the results were ... lets say wooptidoo, wasn't it dazz?
-
Yeah Nick (It did go haywire!)
Big Dave might be able to a tweak (I'm not sure)
-
I picked diesel for the fuel economy and performance - and the reviews I read beforehand all praised the diesel.
Chose SLX for the extra 'bling' as I've seen it described elsewhere on this forum. Climate control, alloy wheels and a few other things.
Chose Protectz for the extra safety.
-
can someone post a list of all models

Hey, where's my i30 1.6 CRDi Premium
-
Shambles,
Have you developed dementia or did someone nick it?
-
Come again Bob...
-
Hey, where's my i30 1.6 CRDi Premium
pfff, there are some many models over the world!!! But I think it is the same as the style one ... could be wrong
-
Shambles,
Have you developed dementia or did someone nick it?
No I did not
Well hope not
-
Hey Nick. No they're different.
Over here we have Comfort, Style and Premium only.
-
The premium one, what does it have for extra's?
So I can compare it
-
The premium one, what does it have for extra's?

Leather seats
Heated front seats (2 level heating)
Heated auto-folding door mirrors
Windscreen wiper electronic deicing
Auto dip rear view mirror
ESP
17" alloy wheels "FondMetal TECH-5" (steel spare)
TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System)
Auto-up auto-down on all windows
Reversing sensors
Leather steering wheel
Leather gear stick
Auto climate control
Auto rain sensor (wiper control)
Auto lights-on control
-
premium = executive
Because they are the only models met standard 17" alloy wheels
-
premium = executive :)
-
Here in Belgium, only the 2.0L models are executive :)
-
Look at Ireland's line up
They also have the low power 1.6crdi

Making a poll of all these models ... its gonna be a big one
-
Hi Guys if Dave can tweak it when he gets time.. my suggestion would be to lump similar models in together (all premium 2.0 ltr petrol for example would include Aussie SR version)
Middle of the range Diesel 1.6 include SLX plus equivilent European model .. etc..
This way would almost be able to adapt the current list to suit!
-
Another good idea from my man, Dazz
-
You UK boys are making me feel a bit sick.
Heated seats
Full leather
Auto folding Mirrors
Parking sensors ect...ect...ect
I though by getting the SLX model here i was getting all the bells and whistles....WRONG. My car looks like a pov pack next to yours Shambles. Even the Kiwis get more options :!:
-
Yeah teapot it might look that way, but at £16000 it wasn't cheap (is that around AUD 33000 ?)
-
Even the UK comfort, base model, has more as standard than the Oz middle models.
-

same as my Style but without the auto-folding door mirrors & Auto-up auto-down on all windows,
do you know how the Auto dip rear view mirror works, it's suppose to be on my Style but the rear view mirror looks just like a regular one.
-

There is a sensor below the mirror, with an on/off switch and a green LED showing when it's on (it always comes on when you start the car). Bright lights from the rear will dip the mirror, allegedly.

Strange, thats not on mine, am I being fooled ?
I'll call my dealer next week!

You'd see it if it was there. You don't have auto-dimming rear view mirror I would suggest

This is what the buttons look like Hemmi...

...and it works really well - it turns the other car's headlights a very nice green colour.
Incidentally, I haven't voted either - my car's specs are under my avatar.

Cheers for that. I've never seen mine activated. Then again, I haven't driven in the dark since I bought it
-
I went the SR only coz I have always wanted the top of the range vehicle. If diesel was available would of got that but I dont mind about the petrol.
5 more days to go!!!!!
-
I haven't driven in the dark since I bought it :?:
BeeJay,
Seems to be taking forever for your car to come...
-
That seems unusual
TELL ME ABOUT IT!!!!!!
-
Hi Guys, I am not suprized that the Deisel SLX leads the poll, but I am suprizes that other than the SR model, not many 2.0L petrols exist.
-
I picked sx diesel, purely becuase I wanted diesel, and I wasnt paying the extra money for fluff like steering buttons and climate control when the machanicals were the same! I also optioned the protectz pack as well, so I wasnt missing out on anything there either
-
I want the 1.6 CVVT Style Sport:
Mixed cloth-leather seats
Heated front seats (2 level heating)
Heated auto-folding door mirrors
Windscreen wiper electronic deicing
ESP, TCS, 6 airbags...
17" alloy wheels
TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System)
Auto-up auto-down on all windows
Reversing sensors
Leather steering wheel with audio controls
Leather gear stick
Auto climate control
Auto rain sensor (wiper control)
Auto lights-on control
The Style model in spain is exactly than Style Sport except for the 17" wheels (comes with 16" alloy)
-
I got the cheapest diesel with the most safety.
SX with Protectz pack.
The dealer gave me a Hyundai ESP video - that settled it!
How much is your life worth?
In a few years cars with ESP will be easier to sell, as more people find out about it.
So I chose on safety and running costs.
The torque was a bonus!
-
Ordered SLX diesel auto with protectz pack for the wife. She wanted the SR but we wanted the economy and torque of the diesel. As a compromise we had the rear wing/spoiler fitted so she feels a bit sportier. Enquired about SR rims and were quoted $700 per wheel....no thanks

I agree safety is the word.
In UK with so many cars on the road the 2 second rules hardly exists from the car in front as someone will take your braking space or the space behind you.
In UK, ESP is standard on all i30 models so why isn't ESP standard across all models across all continents?
On the Kia Cee'd, i30 sister, ESP is only on top of the range model eg sport or optional on the mid range but not the basic. You can add as an extra for C£600 GBP
-
It was a toss-up between the SLX diesel and the SR. I really liked the refinement and extra bits the SR offered without having to get after market addons plus they had an SR in the showroom so I didn't have to wait a few months for my car
-
I got the nana pack CRDi diesel, I've never had a new car before and didn't see the value in the SLX or I would've got it.
-
Even the UK comfort, base model, has more as standard than the Oz middle models.
You pay for it though !!!
I picked the top of the line diesel.
-
ahhh i can't vote but i got the SR though i was just going to get a SLX (petrol auto either way)
-
You can vote now :D
-
I had to vote other :'(
Mine would come under yet another UK model 1.6 petrol Premium (same as Shambles) + SportPack

Mine's not a petrol Premium (http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y297/ShamblesX/GIFS/whistling.gif). I have the superior diesel version :D
-
I meant that Premium was the same as yours :D
