It's been over a year now and the black muck still dribbles down the sills from the door drains. I guess it shows up more on white but it really looks unsightly.
Does everyone else have this?

Didi you have the rust protection?
That is usually what it is.... It get worse in the hotter weather

Cheeky.
I just washed the car today (which you might have guessed) and yes, the back does get a bit sooty which just appears to be a slightly darker colour dirt than the doors but it's not seriously black and barely noticably different from normal dirt until you hit it with the water.
-
so its your fault it rained today.

Guilty. Although it's my habit to wash the car during the rain to take advantage of the free rinse. Really is not a good idea unless you can avoid driving it until the roads dry again. :'(

I think it's either sound deadening or perhaps anti-rust stuff. Be prepared to see it for a while longer yet. :'(

I see. So, no big deal then.
And i suppose that i could live along with the dust, dirt, sound deadening and anti-rust stuff on my shiny snow-white car...
...or not?
:D :D

Mitsubishi had this prob years ago and all they did was put rubber plugs in the drain holes.....

Mine stopped after just a month or two, and it was white stuff on my (nosovice) car.
