After many long years of faithful service and economical motoring we parted company with the Getz recently.
In all the tires were replaced twice (so three sets from new), the battery replaced a couple of times, the gear knob replaced and the two lower control arms replaced prior to selling it. And even then they were about $70-00 each.
I'll miss that car.
And in other news the black i30 has made way for a new Golf with all the bells and whistles. This was my son's car, and he bought his own place a while back so it no longer lives here. But now down to just one Hyundai in the house.
He got the fancy glass cockpit with all the smart traffic management gadgets and just wow. It's quite something.

Was yours pre the 2006 update? My brother has a 2005 auto as a runabout. He has been really happy with it, but compared with our 1.6 2006 Manual Getz it was/is a bit ordinary. I loved our little 2006 manual. It was so zippy and fun to drive. We only got rid of it because it was a bit small for Trish to cart Grandkids and their stuff in. :Pout:

It was the 2005 manual. Went well and I think the best looking of them all. I may be biased though.

I liked the 2006 update where they pinched a few styling cues from Peugeot ... But I might be biased too..
I think the manual would be more responsive than my Brother's Auto.

I reckon those Volkswagen digital dashboards are just fantastic.

You should see the Ioniq dashboard ;)

Yeah, we are waiting patiently.. :whistler:

I loved my Getz 1.4AT, so did my wife (we both owned Getz as the first car). Mine brought me no trouble at all, but I got it for 2 years only.

I still have my Getz (2006 1.6 manual) and really enjoy driving and owning it.
It has been my favourite car out of the 8 or so that I have owned (and this may be blasphemous on this site...but this includes my i30 diesel :whistler:).

You're forgiven (by me anyway) I have very fond memories of our 1.6 Manual Getz too! :goodjob:
Completely different car to the FD i30 CRDi. Getz was more fun around town, but preferred the Diesel on the highway.
