Title: Gas + Diesel in an i30

Havent even got my i30 yet but was wondering if anyone has or knows of someone who has got a Gas + Diesel setup.

I have heard about these and seen them in other 4x4s but believe you can do this for i30s etc as well.

Has some info. But just wondering if anyone has done this with a small diesel and if it makes any difference.

All the results I have seen are pretty impressive and the fuel savings is not really what I am looking for, its more for that added bit of performance.

It could also be completely pointless...!

Can't recall any of our 1000+ members doing that yet. For extra performance you would be better off with a tuning box from around say A$400 as a Gas coversion would be more than A$1000 I would imagine...

Post by: Lakes on January 03, 2010, 19:07:56: hi Nat, i know people that run gas with diesel, they get good performance gains and economy, i was thinking about it at one time, but a member here that owns a Toyota 4x4 diesel and a i30 diesel ran his toyota with a gas diesel set up and had a piston failure so i just forgot about it as i am happy with how the car runs now & do not want problems.
eye30 all our taxi's in sydney run on LPG gas and a lot of our bus's run diesel& natural gas as it burns cleaner & we have vast natural gas fields underground here.

Not sure Eye but I think it's at least twice that (which is odd seeing the amount of reserves we have :rolleyes:)

But £0.54 is actually closer to $1 (Aust.) which is getting
close to twice what we pay for a litre of LPG in Aust.

Hi Russ... :-[ it must be a bit early.. I didn't even realize Eye had gone the wrong way with his conversion... :rolleyes:

Post by: 2i30s on January 03, 2010, 23:06:30: LPG in Melbourne at the moment is about 54cents a litre,and petrol is around $1.17c and diesel $1.20c. i would ask if you can put the LPG kit on your car and still have the 5 year warranty. :eek:

Had a customer with a Golf enquire about this and the fitter said it was not possible without modification to the computer.....

my mate has it on a Mercedies Sprinter 2.2 turbo diesel that he has fitted out as a campervan.
