Title: When an oil filter is NOT
Post by: nzenigma on December 23, 2017, 20:23:27
Hey owners, When did your service guy last change the oil filter?

Oh last month , you say... Great... BUT, how do you know for sure?

Think this is a JOKE ?  Sorry its NOT... this filter broke in half as I lifted it out of the motor. The missing area just fell away when I touched it.

The oil was quite new, Im guessing it has been changed regularly  :whistler: but the filter has been in the car for .....XX,000 KM. ???      175,000 km on the clock.

I'm Head 0f QC and have total confidence in my mechanic. To think all that just to make an extra 10 bucks.or maybe they could not find the filter :whistler:

Can you make out any brand markings on it at either end?

Good to see you're using High Quality Bulgarian Filters too!

No  brand name, Not that it makes much diff I suspect. The cap was tight as, used a bar and socket to remove it, so you are right, he couldn't find it under the thing that wouldn't come off.
