Title: Alarm
Post by: Laine on January 07, 2018, 01:43:08
Hi.  I have just found this site so first time user here.  I am wanting to know if anyone can tell me if my 2013 i30 alarm can be set off using the key pad.  I have been told this can be done for security reasons like a panic button.  I have tried to find out, read the manual again, tried different combinations on the keypad but nothing sets it off.  I am thinking this particular alarm doesn't have a panic button function.  Is that right?
By the way, I love my i30, it is the best car I have ever owned in my life  ;)

From memory (been a fair while since we had a series 1 - FD model) but I think they had a 4th (red) button at the bottom for a panic alarm (to set off the horn after a long press)

Unfortunately they appear to have dropped the idea in your model (GD) and mine (PD)

But IIRC, and you probably wouldn't have time anyway, but if you've locked your car with the remote and open it with the key, the alarm will go off. Until you put the key in the ignition.

Must have been one of our other cars! Maybe the Tiida and/or our Pulsars! :crazy1:
