Hi Guys
Got my new i30 SR premium and love it to death. Only thing im curious about is in regards to the radio/media not lowering volume when the parking sensors are activated. It lowers for the navigation lady but not for the sensors.
In the manual on page 4-39 it does say in the sound settings that there is a setting for "back up warning priority" when activated it automatically lowers volume when reversing. I for the life of me cannot find that in my sound settings. Anyone with a PD can find it on theres?
I know i can just mute the volume but you know, first world problems.....

If I remember I'll have a hunt through the menus next time I take a drive. Be bloody cold in the Garage at this time of the morning (5am) :cold:
If it were me I'd ask the dealer to fix it at the next service. :undecided:

I also have the same issue with my PD i30 Elite and cannot find the setting on the audio unit.
Have added a copy of the info from the owners manual and a photo of the actual settings on the audio unit sound settings page.
There is no option for this under any of the section tabs :confused:
Would also be interested to hear what other PD owners may or may not have in there settings ??

Did you try clicking on the advanced option tab?

Cheers! Sounds (see what I did there) like it's over to the Service department at the next service. I'm sure mine mutes for all situations where there is an alert. Sensors, school zone warnings etc...

Yes mine does too in the situations you hi-lighted just not in the "back up warning priority" that lowers the volume when reverse gear is engaged as per outlined in the owners manual, not the end of the world but I do like the radio/media player off or low volume when reversing (getting old and have enough noise in my head with all them voices :crazy2: ).

To be honest with 17 Grand kids I seldom play any music or radio in the car these days... I consider it my quiet time (apart from when I'm driving on coarse bitumen) :undecided:

Forgot about this. No luck with this feature even if it is in the manual so not sure what the go is. Hope you guys have had more luck. I know the Ford Focus minimises volume of the stereo when the parking sensors start activating.

Is there another option below the "advanced"? Looks like there's a scroll bar on that screen.

No other menu items the "Advance" option is the last :(

Try this:
Set your audio volume to your normal level then engage reverse; while in reverse lower the volume. Take it out of reverse.
If it's smart, it'll remember the lower setting next time you select reverse.
If it's not smart, then don't blame me.

You were right there was one last menu tab "Default"
But this only resets personal preferences back to factory default :confused:

Had a shot with your last suggestion, and as much as I love my car it's not that smart :'(
So will continue to hit "Mute" till I put in for its next service (only 800Km to go)
