GOT PROBLEMS OR ISSUES? => GENERAL => Topic started by: i30joe on April 21, 2018, 10:24:15

This morning as I disengaged the handbrake as usual. There seems to be a lot of play when the handbrake is fully down and it even lifts to a point where the warning light is lit on the dash.
I'm a wannabe amateur mechanic and I've never done anything with handbrakes.
Do any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Joe

Parking brake lever stroke :
7 cliks (Pull the lever with 20kg)
There's 2 adjustments. One inside the rear disc assemblies and the cable adjustment inside the center console.
I don't fully understand what you're on about with the lamp but as soon as that lever is lifted the lamp should be on.
If the ahndbrake holds fine but the travel of the handle is a bit long then adjust the nut in the console to have it to spec

Taking a punt from miles away, it sounds like a cable has come off or is broken. Check 'A' at the rear hubs.

Has play just happened?
Still under warranty?
If so get dealer to rectify
