GOT PROBLEMS OR ISSUES? => GENERAL => Topic started by: Beardyboy on May 09, 2018, 11:28:56

Hello.
My car had done just 600kms before some of the "leather" surface had worn off of the right hand side bolster on the drivers seat. Whilst this is covered under warranty ( there is a 6-8 week delay to get the part of the seat in from Korea), i wondered if any one else had noticed very premature wear on the upholstery.
Are the seats all real leather?

All the blurb calls it leather. That spot corresponds to where your wallet sits. I'm careful to take mine out and place it elsewhere before I sit in mine, even though my seat is just fabric.

It's for the Kona but the small print relates across the board for Hyundai and most brands to a certain price point :link: Leather appointed interior ? steering wheel, seats & gear knob | Hyundai Australia (https://www.hyundai.com.au/cars/suvs/kona/interior-features/leather-interior)
"Leather appointed may contain elements of genuine leather, polyurethane leather (leather substitute) or man-made materials, or a combination thereof. Leather appointed seats are available on the Elite and Highlander variants"

Right you are Craig, don't think this kind of leather ever walked the earth.

I had my front seat in my current model SR covered with custom made Sheepskin seat covers but just the other day I decided to remove the one on my side (driver's side) Will be interested to monitor the wear. I put my wallet in a front pocket for security reasons. Plus it's too fat to sit on.. :snigger:
