Hi guys, I bought a Hyundai i30 2011 FD CRDi 1.6 Diesel last year. It hasn't given me any troubles ( first car and I see it as a great car ). I gave it to my dad, he became a driving instructor newly. I am expecting to get it back in a couple of months.
The car is on 80,000 miles or so. I change the engine oil frequently. Tranmission oil doesn't look very promising ( it is a brown colour). I have the choice of getting the car back or getting a different car? Which one is worth it. I don't want to blow my money on a different car. I need this to last me at least another 4 years. Is it worth it? I am scared to get it back because I have always been worried about the transmission failing me. I know it will happen, because I never knew when the owner changed the oil.
So what do you guys recommend?
And how much does getting a tranmission replaced cost on avarage? Is it worth it?
Many thanks

Automatic or manual? Has the transmission had any issues? If not why don't you just get the trans oil changed?

Automatic. People on this forum told me to change but I am reluctant if my transmission would start slipping
If you were me, what would you do?

Changing the oil won't make the transmission slip. It will prolong its life substantially.

Change the transmission oil.

Replace the oil and regret nothing, dont and need another car mate, simple as that!
