GOT PROBLEMS OR ISSUES? => GENERAL => Topic started by: hyundai_on_thames on February 09, 2010, 22:07:25

My 5 foot wife complained about the front seat digging into the backs of her knees, especially annoying on long journeys. I compared the i30's front seats with our old Micra's which she finds comfortable and indeed, the i30's seats are 2 cm deeper. Fine for 6 foot me but not for her.
Went to Halfords and picked up 2 types of adult seat boosters/backrests to try, black so not too conspicuous. Alas, both too wide to actually fit between between the seat squabs. No sale for Halfords!
Anyone else had this and found a solution?

Can you adjust the lumber support to full, that should push the base of the backrest forward. Not sure how much it moves but could be just enough to help the problem, or until you can find a proper solution.

only thing i can think of is trying lumbar supports from office places, you can buy different types for office chairs
or possibly one of those massage type pads that are the size of a whole back panel or even full seat

Something to put her feet on, to raise their height?
-
My wife is only 5' tall and she found her passenger seat a bit low so I got a piece of high density foam (about 5cm thick and cut it to size with an electric knife) and sandwiched it between the seat and our seatcovers (seemed to help)

Another possibility Dazz - you could try swapping the wife for a 5 foot 5 model :D
