Title: What happened to the bulb? :)
Post by: accim on February 25, 2010, 15:06:07
Few days ago, I noticed my left light doesn't "work" as good as my right one. So I said to my self, I'll check it out. Today, I managed to do so... This is what I've found..

I'm sure that this is a result of being held in someones fingers. The natural oil on your hands can affect the glass over time when it heats up. :'(

Probably.. These bulbs are from Santa Fe, in which they were originally installed.. But the thing is, that we've put xenon lights in Santa Fe - our Hyundai dealer installed it and they naturally, took the "stock bulbs" out. Guess he must have held them in his hand for quite some time   :) I know I always make sure not to touch the glass..

Indeed, looks like a finger hotspot. nice example of why one shouldn't touch the little blighters.

My Futurama association is closer to the mark. Definitely a case of a bulb with wannabe aspirations

Thans
At first I took the pics with my mobile phone, but then it looked kind of interesting and I "had to have some fun" with camera

Replaced both bulbs yesterday with new ones (Osram Silverstar) and they sure do produce more and whiter light than stock ones - of course they are not even close to xenon hid
