Title: Fuel Gauge issue (Nissan Micra 2008 K12)
Post by: pidim on November 20, 2018, 23:43:19
Hi everyone, since my i30 is SO reliable I rarely have issues to report or ask advice on.  Given the quality of knowledge to be found here was wondering if someone can advise on another car in the "family".

We have a Nissan Micra 2008 K12 series since new and recently the fuel gauge randomly shows empty with fuel light on even though it has fuel.  It has very low kays after 10 yeasrs - only 55,000. Sometimes it fixes itself whilst driving.  Can anyone offer any ideas what would be causing this?  Would it be an expensive fix?

Thanks all for your help

If it's a mechanical float gauge, it may be sticking. If a capacitance type, perhaps a dry joint in the wiring.
