Upgrade process...run the update file as described within the PDF link - check update file is completed to correct file version - pull usb stick out - initialise system - retune stations - re-sync Bluetooth to phone.

@i30premy Neville, you should be able to get a brand new, brand name, aftermarket unit with better features than the GD-03 for well under a $1000 installed I'd imagine. :cool:Dazz, I'm not sure whether that unit will have the same issue of not matching the lower centre fascia shape where the unit meets the aircon, it might be possible to find some of those type to fit the premium models though most of them were made to be exchangeable with the base model non satnav vehicles, something to definitely query with the seller before purchasing anyway to make sure it will fit a satnav model.

Name brand units are obtainable from $800 minimum if wanting carplay/android auto though once you add the harness and fascia surround plus installation I think you'd be looking closer to $1200 or $1500.

I don't know what is wrong with this radio! Version info all shown correctly, followed all the steps but nothing is fixed... Even the clock keeps resetting which means the update has not been installed. It is so frustrating.Is your usb formatted to Fat32...? try running the update again, I've monitored the responses of a dozen or more installs now and not one has had problems or failed.

However, I am finding it hard to find an answer to a problem.
I have a 2013 Active with the GD-01 head unit. It has worked fine with Siri since new, with iPhone 6, 8 and 10. However with the iPhone 11 - it's decided to act up.
I paid my dealer to upgrade to the latest firmware and this did not help.
I can make/take calls via HandsFree - :)
I can get Apple maps to break in to audio via HFP - :)
I cannot get "Hey Siri" to break into audio - :disapp:
I am ok with doing my own Firmware upgrade but I cannot find a download link anywhere.
The closest match is the ling for GD-03 on this page...but I am reasonably sure that will not work with my unit.
Any advice or things to try would be greatly appreciated....or a link to the latest firmware would be stellar! :crazy1:

To be honest, I'm surprised your head unit is still working. According to @CraigB they are a dog of a unit with multiple issues and have a history of dying after about 3 years if not before.
That is why there are several threads that talk about how to upgrade to a better GD03 unit.
I'm no expert on this type of issue. Being such a new phone not sure there will be many that can offer advice. I do hope I am wrong!

Is this reporting on Hardware or Firmware?
The main problem I am having is that if I answer a Phone call or use Voice command to my iPhone either via Bluetooth or USB connection once I am finished on the call or voice command and hangup the volume which was muted on Media or Radio is not restored to previous level and the only way to get it back is to completely shut down the head unit.
Turning off then on using the power knob has no effect. I have to pull over and stop the car and turn off the ignition to restore sound to my other Media.

Had several FD and now have two GD`s. Both diesels. One is hatch and manual. Other is Tourer and Auto. Interestingly there is nearly 2 liters per 100kms difference in both.

Thank you so much for sharing this source; I found this and tried it. It worked well and saved me of purchasing infotainment and steering control unit as advised by Hyundai Service team! I fought with them for two months that the problem is the software but they insisted that it is hardware issue and I should replace. It is fixed now and my family and I can enjoy using the system safely. Thanks again.

Yes! Exact same issue here.
I've also noticed, a call dropped out and I lost all audio- am, fm, Bluetooth- and had to restart the whole car to fix it.

What year model is on the compliance plate?Car year 2015/2016. The multimedia has never been updated before. It didn't have CarPlay. I just need to know which program does the factory reset.

Thanks mate! It's my Wifes new car and as much as we spent all the money to get a bigger nicer car, seems Carplay is the most important part of vehicle! I reckon shed use a Flintstones car if it had CarPlay haha! I am only trying to update as all my local dealers are saying its a $160+ diagnostic to see why all audio works except CarPlay phone calls, and then a full head unit replacement for a couple thousand if they cant fix it. None mentioned just bring it in for an update of course.Haha
I totally get it! To think we used to have to wind our windows down by hand!

I will try again today, I only did it once as the software and other numbers matched and the cartronics guide said to run it twice if they didn't, so I thought I was all clear. I will post back later today! Glad the thread is still alive.
