So has anyone done this and can provide the procedure. A member wants to fit a new horn he has purchased but wants advice on removing the bumper.

So :spitty:
has anyone done this and can provide the procedure. A member wants to fit a new horn he has purchased but wants advice on removing the bumper.
Recently observed two local Taliban lads doing this, and as I expected basically same as FD and GD procedure.
Raise car 300mm so you can get under it.
There are about 20 -30 plastic rivets to release. 2 types of Rivet: Unscrew middle phillips head screw or push blank centre button down. Then rivet lifts out of hole.
They are along the top and bottom of the guard.
Unclip all rivets on leading edge of both wheel arch covers (about 10)
In each wheel arch there should be an 8mm screw holding the back edge of bumper -remove.
Pull down wheel arch covers and unplug fog lamps.
Look at join of guard and bumper. Long Plastic clip here ( hidden behind join). Pull guard outward to free it.
Guard will drop down onto soft matting that you have already laid because you are a clever woman.
PS fitting guard is the reverse of the above. :twisted:

@nzenigma
I feel the 300mm may depend on ones Doidimus Maximus .
Somewhat amazed though, how often does one really use the horn?
I've never judged someone by the sound of their trumpet. :faint:

Thanks Gary.
