Title: Hyundai i30 2011 FD Support for speaker change
Post by: fippi22 on February 07, 2019, 20:00:39
Hello dear users,

At my  "new " Hyundai i30 2011 FD, I want to replace the boxes front and back (4 pieces). Now to my questions:

-What diameter must the boxes have to have?
-Do I still need a new amplifier?
-custom in a new radio?
-Do I still need an adapter?

Thank you for your support

Welcome fippi22,

I think the speakers are 6.5" ( front and back ) but having not changed them myself in an FD I suggest you wait for other replies before proceeding.

There shouldn't be any need for adapters or a different amp.

thank you :)
Now I wait. I think like this one  :link: Pioneer TS-G1732i (240W, 17cm) - Car HiFi Lautsprecher - Galaxus (https://www.galaxus.ch/de/s4/product/pioneer-ts-g1732i-240w-17cm-car-hifi-lautsprecher-3489513) 17cm are 6,5".

They would certainly be better than the standard ones. There are some quite old threads on here about changing speakers on the FD but with your need to use a translator not sure how much they would help you, even if I could find them.

But as you say wait for some other posts before ordering. It might even be a day or two before everyone who can help will see your post.

Nice, although I think they're G1733i being 3 way. Is there any overlap? Do you think 16cm would also work? Are they the OEM speakers with the insides removed ?

Cramming 16cm into a 17cm space - I would make it work with minor adapting if necessary  :D

I have 4 new Pioneer 16s 2way that  never made it into our last car, not that I have any desire to mod any of mine yet

I change later the rear speaker when you want I make pics from want I do. Because the frame you don`t take away you can directly but it on with Rivets and glow.

I think it works better with 16cm because with the 17cm you must to rasp and glow.

Sounds good.

I'm interpreting this as , You can directly put it on with rivets and glue.

I had an Astra , or Opel Astra once. Similar setup with the speakers. I completely cut away the speakers then found some thing that sat inside the shell and bonded it with polyutherane sealant(sikaflex) . Worked well

I guess it's all a matter of choosing which will be your Saturday night street cruiser
