Thank you... I had problem with the boot, my i30 unable to open the boot suddenly, there's no keyhole to open manually.  I went to Hyundai, the Salesman advised me since my model was 2012, and just over the Waranty, so the basic fee is 110.00 + whatever replacement/repairing.  I would really want to know what went wrong, and why it happen, and how much I should prepare for to fix it up.

Anyone could help me out please :crazy1: :crazy1: :crazy1:

Borris if you have been getting the car serviced at Hyundai it's probably time to change. Ask your friends to recommend someone they're happy with.
If you are already getting your services done elsewhere, start with them.
One of our technical people may have experience with this but I personally haven't heard of it.

Hi Borris and welcome.  Sounds like the actuator  (solenoid switch) has died or the lock has got too tight for it to work any more.

Happens with the door locks mostly but the boot sometimes. Our 2008 hatch did it a couple of times when only 2 years old but only intermittent so I never bothered to get it fixed under warranty before I traded it.

Sounds like even an auto electrician might be cheaper than the dealer!
