The inquiry by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) follows thousands of complaints about the "non-crash fires".

Incidents involving fires are linked to one death and more than 100 injuries.

Which makes the last line interesting.

South Korean prosecutors are conducting separate investigations into the carmakers over the recalls.

I bet the problem is miniscule compared to the number of Fords that have engine fires and theirs are world wide.. I think the Yanks have always tried to curtail Korean car sales .. Just my 2 cents worth.  :undecided:

I agree Dazz. Any foreign brand is fair game over there. The latest form of protectionism.
