..... I am not at all sure if that's true, but here goes.
I need to just remind you all of previous posts before I begin. You will no doubt recall, one of our merry band comment on the little peccadillo which our wonderful i30's have, to wit, a little bit of roll back after applying the hand brake... yes?
Also you may recall me telling you that my garage is a tight fit for my car, as one of our brethren commented 'they're wider than they look'.
You already know where this is heading dontcha???
Being such a tight squeeze in my garage I have to park with the cars nearside really, I MEAN REALLY, close to the house wall. I did, really close, eighth of an inch. I took my foot off the foot brake and it move, just a midges penis, but the bloody nearside mirror touched the wall.
I move the car forwards, with full offside lock on of course, but alas to late. There was a small lacerative wound which now requires some TLC (tender loving care). I haven't put a plaster on it, it didn't bleed. I have however ordered a small tin of touch up paint from the dealership :'( which initiated the expected enquiry 'Why do you need tough up paint......... '.
So the touch up will arrive Thursday, so he says, but I am trying not to be to optimistic after reading about some of the promises made by dealerships.
I've also invested in a pack of the car wax recommended in another thread Magui.... (something of other) <it's downstairs and I can't be bothered to go and get it> :P.
Once I have put a dab of paint into the tiny wound on the mirror and waited the appropriate time for it to go off, then rubbed it down with Tcut, I shall set about waxing the whole car :D :D :D :D :D :D
Which I shall enjoy, mainly since I won't be parting with another large wedge of money on paint protection.
Otherwise the car is still very sweet. I took the misses out in it today, I like to take her to the washerette now and again, it gets her out of the house for a while, ya know. We have to spoil these women now and again lads, don't we.

Sorry to hear about your ding. I have my first war wound too, someone decide to give me a small nick in the paint with their door recently.
-
Oh Lorian...
And of course they stuck around to offer to have it fixed for ya.... NOT...
-
... but the bloody nearside mirror touched the wall.
That would be "The Thornborough Thump"
...We have to spoil these women now and again lads, don't we.
Failure to do so is also "The Thornborough Thump" ;)

I like to take my missus for at least a 10Kilometre drive each day.. That way by the end of the week she is over 70 Kilometres away..
Sorry to hear about your paint scratch.. Obviously like us Aussies you don't get the folding mirrors that some of our other UK members have...
I have rubbed the end of my Drivers side mirror too (cant remember how?) but my touch up is slightly lighter so you can tell i've touched it up..

door dints and wall scrapes, there should be a law against it. :P the door dinters need a london kiss, imo.

Hehe I think maybe a Glasgow Kiss (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Glasgow+kiss) would be a better option  but I know what you mean :D
-
is it the same thing. [headbutt]
-
Gee Shambles you even got a mention in that first definition!!!
-
I thank everyone for the kind condolences after my tragic occurrence, i.e. the Thornborough Thump, it was actually more of a gentle TOUCH....
Taking you miss'us all that way, well, how's she gonna cook and clean for ya from all that far away???
OK I'll have to go for now, the maid.. Oops I mean wify has just made me some breakfast. I hope the bacons a little bit crispy round the edges. I don't want to have to speak to here again about this.
Oh and whilst I think on, I tried to connect my iPhone (which has a built in iPod) to the iPod connector in the car and the supplied lead didn't seem to want to fit. I was reluctant to give it a more firm shove since the iPhone is so damned expensive.
I guess it will only work with an iPod, unless someone tells me different???????????????????????
-
I do like your sense of humour :D :D :D
I have a first generation iphone but no dedicated Hyundai cable. I was of the impression that the cable does fit the iphone (but I may be mistaken)... My surround has an Ipod Dock and after a bit of fiddling the ipone fits on that ok and works like an ipod...
-
OK dazz....
Lets see if anyone else has had the same issue.... then if someone say's it should fit, I'll get busy with the lump hammer, it'll fit then for sure.
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Should that be a Manchester Kiss

No bath then
-
washerette does a much better job.... she comes out sparklin clean from there..............
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
-
Dazzler.
I can assure you that the cable is not coming anywhere near fitting my FIRST generation iPhone G3. I do, however, have a protector on the iPhone which as you will be aware is a plastic case onto which I fit a spongy rubber condom affair. I will have one more go without the rubberised condom thing, in case that interfered with the insertion :D
It'll be tomorrow now before I do that, I have to supervise the washing up and other chores....
I'll keep you updated, watch this space.
It may be that you're not missing a thing, then again, maybe you are???????
-
There are a couple of previous threads if you search for "iphone" including one that mentions something called a "Scosche Passport" adapter. No idea if this is what you need. Last Apple product I bought was an Apple IIe.

<snip> ghastly detail removed </snip>
3M sells an anti-abrasion tape, that can be easily applied to all parts of car body that are in danger of getting chaffed.
It is completely transparent, you will only see the edges if very close.
Application of that to the ends of mirrors would not be that bad idea. The tape is so tough that if it is cut through, there will be physical damage also.
