, the boot release button on my key fob (the car shaped one that says HOLD) wont release the boot it flashes the "hazard lights" on the boot but the boot wont open when I try to open the hatch,what am I doing wrong do I need to hack the code in the computer

If it can't then it sounds like the actuator/lock is faulty. If it can then that's where the fun begins I guess.
We don't know what series this is but the remote is different to my FD which the boot release in the middle.
Assuming the systems are similar across the board mine works like this. Hold the boot button until hazards blink twice, operate the boot button at the hatch, opens as normal.
Close hatch, single blink of hazard , indicating vehicle is locked and armed.

Yep, mine is smart key. If it's a PD then you'd expect actuator to still be ok!

You still need to press the boot open button on the hatch to open it.
