nice color.  :razz:all of the colors should be available in every country.  :'(

I didn't take these pics, my friend did. He is not a proffesional but he knows the drill as you can see. :) He has some very good equipment and does photography as a hobby.

I just lubricate the tyres with the solution of water and glycerin.

There is inidigo blue here in Serbia but we don't have anything stronger than 1,4 petrol!! Can't believe it! We only have 1,6 diesel and 1,4 petrol. Maybe you have to do a special order for getting something else, i don't know, but in the official price list there is no other... as i can see, all of u have much stronger engine.
Title: Re: My preciousssss...
Post by: 2i30s on April 04, 2010, 00:22:04
every country should have the same colors, engines and options. it doesn't make sense to have the same car but with different builds in different country's.
Title: Re: My preciousssss...
Post by: Ogi on April 04, 2010, 00:31:05
I agree. But i guess every dealer in some country import cars it thinks it can sell. Maybe the manufacturer has different contracts with different countries concerning their level of economical development... the same is with the clothes and many other products... many of famous brands of clothes makes different clothes for western and eastern Europe... it is much, MUCH worse for eastern although it is the same brand.

After all, cars in Serbia are much more expensive than in all other countries becouse of the duty, taxes and all shit only conutries of low level of development still have...

Nothing wrong with the 1.6 diesel... :P :'(

Yes Dazz, but they only have 90-ps 1.6 diesel

I guess they've calculated that very few cars above that power would sell over there..
In Slovenia, you can get 1.4 petrol, 1.6 petrol and diesel, but there are no 2.0 petrol nor diesel engines in price list  8) You could order them specially, but it would cost much more and you would wait long long time.. I doubt anyone has done that.

And Ogi, you are right, the i30's cost more there, then in Slovenia (approx 1,000 EUR diff).. I just checked the Serbian price list (http://i30.hyundai.co.rs/upload/document/05__cenovnik_03_i30.pdf)

Here's Slovenian price list. (http://www.hyundai.si/filelib/ceniki/cenik_i30_25_03_2010.pdf) You can see that in the price list there are listed only 90-ps diesel engines, but the 115-ps and 128-ps are listed below in the additional equipment list.. So the base price + 800 EUR for 115-ps version, etc.. Don't know why they did that, but ok.. Probably because most i30 are actually sold with 1.4 petrol engines and 90-ps 1.6 diesels..

Is it my eyes or is there a kind-of unusual finish on the paint on the boot lid?

@Lorian  I think it is your eyes or it's just the sample of the car a bought becouse i didn't do anything on that part. But yes, i fixed the right part of the front bumper and right wing e.g. painted over again becouse someone hit me while i was on the parking place.

But really, on some parts of the car, the tin looks really like a relief, i guess you ment that.

Yes I saw that. It reminded me of orange peel. But in blue.
Title: Re: My preciousssss...
Post by: Ogi on April 04, 2010, 18:31:08
It is like that by factory. Yours don't have that?

Then maybe that is when i talked about products for Western and Eastern Europe (and the rest of the developed world), for us it is everything worse. :(
Title: Re: My preciousssss...
Post by: Lorian on April 04, 2010, 18:39:15
It's not an ideal finish, but I think it can be quite common on cars sometimes. As it was built in the Korean factory then the finish should be pretty much the same as most of the i30's out there. I think the Czech factory has a slightly newer paint process. It is possible that your particular (rare) colour is more prone to have the effect. I don't think it's anything to worry about.

I would suggest that we should all go and have a close look at our paint, mine has that effect too if you look real close
Title: Re: My preciousssss...
Post by: Hemmi on April 04, 2010, 21:07:12
I think it's called hammered paint finish, and almost all new cars today have it, and yes it's cheap.

I would like to put a foil on my roof.

Can you tell me what color would suit my car the best? I was thinking about the white maybe!?? Or my car is too dark for it?

Maybe, if someone is good with Photoshop, can use my pics to make a color roof and post back the pictures?

Thanks.

Here the ideal pic for that:

No, no, i just put the rims and thats over. Few days ago i put arm holder inside. I have several things i wanna do more:

1. Spoiler (it's quite expensive here with all the  painting so i'll buy it in a few months)

2. Lining the wheel and transmission into leather! We have a guy here who do it incredibly !!   I am just frightened about my guarantee, is it allowed for someone else to put my wheel and transmission off ? I must ask authorized dealer about that. Or maybe they can do it.

3. I was thinking about the roof as i said or some stripes...

4. I will maybe put... how to say... dictionary say filet/batten!? Hope you know what i mean.

Maybe silver would be better for the roof?

Title: Re: My preciousssss...
Post by: accim on April 19, 2010, 20:39:33
The silver stripes do actually look nice. I personally wouldn't (and as obvious, haven't) put them on, but I kind of like how it looks.

Regarding your previous post.. In Slovenia, it is allowed, if I recall correctly, but till certain percentage (don't ask me the exact %, but you can cover/paint your car in other color/stripes, than written in your license till let's say 20% of "base color"). If your car is painted (also labels) with other color over that %, you must have it "approved" or as we say it - homologirat and "additional" colors must be "signed in". It's probably similar in Serbia..

Yes, i heard that too.

Now i want to coat the wheel and the gearshift knob with the leather but i am so frightened of taking the wheel and the knob off, i am afraid of some failure or something although i made a deal with official dealer to do that!!

Can something go wrong? Did anyone do this on Hyundai?

Hi Ogi, is that an armster? If so, did you install it yousefl? Was it easy?

Yes, it is. I bought it at the official Hyundai dealer, cost 70 eur and they installed it for me, it took them about 3 minutes. :) It can't be easier. You need to make 8 screw holes and screw it up (four for the adapter and four for the armster).

Shame the handbrake is on the wrong side of the car

What do you mean? I guess it is in the same place on the right wheel cars, just the opposite side, right?

It does not bother the handbrake at all !!! That is great becouse i was sceptic about it.

I don't have that hole for small things anymore becouse it need to be installed in it, they screw up the adapter in it and then screw up armster in the adapter. But i have one in the armster. Also, you can adjust the camber of it as well as extend it as you can see on the following picture:

All in all, great thing and very, VERY useful !! Makes driving much easier...

The arm rest doesn't bother at all becouse you can pull it up if you wanna use any of the connectors...

@Accim  It is great, isn't it? :)

Yap, it sure is :) And it really doesn't bother the iPod/USB/AUX connectors, as you've mentioned it. I have my USB plugged in all the time and there's about 2-3 mm's between the armrest and the USB key. I guess if I had really huge USB key, it could be a problem, but the one I have is far from being small.. Comparing it to others, it's rather among the bigger ones

And it is so easier to drive with it also... you just shift gers with your ankle... ;)

After i put the leather on my wheel i kinda have very different feeling now, as if i have more control, like i am driving a bigger and more robust car... ;) It feels better when the wheel is fatty... :)

Have a nice trip! I suppose you are going to Halkidiki
If you do, i suggest Sithonia, particulary the part which is facing Agio Oros.

Just a suggestion (from our 2008 vacations):

roof painted black is always tough, but there are rules to it

wheels must be an awesome offset, car must be low, to the point of wheels almost touching gaurds/tucking wheels, a slight body kit is neccacary, no badges... none at all

if you use a big sticker/decal on the roof and you don't like it you can just peel it off,but if you paint the roof its a bit harder to change back.

I don't have any personal experience, but take a look at the ADAC Tests further down:

--> 185/65 R15 H (http://www.adac.de/infotestrat/tests/reifen/sommerreifen/2010_Sommerreifen_Test_185_65_R15.aspx?ComponentId=29770&SourcePageId=31821)
"Very balanced summer tires.
Particularly well on dry roads.
Good on wet"

"Very balanced summer tires.
Very good in all safety-related disciplines.
Very quiet tires"

Click on each tire to see the score in test sub-categories.

Note that:
the lower the score, the better it is!
Score may vary from car to car.
You can't compare scores among different tests.
Final choice is up to you, according to your driving habbits :)

I have decided to put a foil on the roof and rearview mirrors.

What collor do you think it would suit him the best ? I guess some bright color such as white (dirty white), gray or something... ? Does anybody know ? I am not much into color matching so i need help.

Title: Re: My preciousssss...
Post by: Ogi on July 24, 2011, 13:24:22
I didn't do it, it was done by a proffesional. The price of the material was 80 euro (with 20% discount) and work was 30 euro.

It was a bit difficult to remove the antenna (we had to unscrew it from the inside, removing the upholstery of the roof) and roof strips for the roof box.

After that, it was easy.

Title: Re: My preciousssss...
Post by: Ogi on July 25, 2011, 22:17:38
No, definetly not. I think i won't do exterior anymore. I know it would look great with some stripes on the bonnet or something but first of all i can't make a racing car out of it becouse it simply is not like that, it has no sporting characteristics, it's only 1400ccm and also i am a family man with a child and i don't want to enter "trash area" in styling a car which is very thin as you know :), it is important to know when to stop, and above all, my wife wants to kill me even now, if i touch the car again i could face a divorce.   I wanted to put the foil on moldings but we couldn't do it becouse they are glued so we couldn't take them of without making damage to the paint and put them back again...

Anyway, i would like xenon lights but i can't mount them becouse of the law and i would also like some visible sport exhaust (only the rear part) but i don't know if it can be mounted, do i need to cut the rear bumper, is it safe for the exaust system and so on...

I would also like the locks in the color of the car, not the black ones...

An idea to cover my car with carbon film has come to my mind a few times, there are only two things, which stop me from further actions: 1. the price - about 2000USD; 2. I wonder if that carbon film is available in dark blue, otherwise I would face some problems with reissuing the official papers of my car.
