GOT PROBLEMS OR ISSUES? => DIESEL => Topic started by: johnee on April 05, 2010, 12:37:03

I'm aware of another well known brand of Japanese vehicle manufacturer, currently having a problem with their diesels for a particular vehicle which are getting oil residue on their air filters. The consensus is that there is a problem with the oil separation unit from the intake/turbo area and that some sort of back pressure means oil residue is contaminating the oil filter. Has anyone heard of a similar problem before on other diesel vehicles?

I haven't heard of any (certainly not with the i30 CRDi anyway)

Checked my filter clean for oil but mucky for atmospheric pollution

I didn't want to cause any concern, just thought I'd mention it as i didn't know if it could be common among diesels. Looks like it's limited to one particular SUV model. Must be a poorly designed EGR valve setup.
