..... The recession is over...
I just went to the 'Trafford Centre' (allegedly the largest shopping Mall in Europe), I took the wifey along in case there were any heavy bags needed carrying, and of course to get me coffee and sandwiches when I started to flag.
Anyhow, it was hammered, no sign of a recession in there guys, they were all spending money like drunken sailors on shore leave...
Amazing.... the car performed wonderfully well as is becoming the norm, and I am still filled with awe and wonder at just how bloody good it is. I am still waiting for my polishing bonnets to arrive before I start waxing the little beauty, the weather tho has just turned to wonderful spring. Windows thrown open and a nice warm balmy breeze disturbing my grey tresses... The wifey will be able to get the lawn mower out soon if this keeps up.

When she is finished at yours send her over to do mine.
-
Then she can come up and do mine
I just give the wife a pair of scissors, it keeps her busy
-
Now come on lads.... you'll all have to train your own..... took me a while but it's worth persevering.
My only worry now is that she figures out how these infernal computers work and see's what I've written, if that happens you'll know by my sudden disappearance, evidenced by a suspicious mound in the back garden.
:P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) :P :P :P :P :P :P

Well if she does that you should make sure that she has a use for you in death also, if she buries you with your bum sticking out of the ground, she will have somewhere to park her bike :D :D

I think the MetroCentre is still the largest in Europe. But more importantly did you get your sandwiches?

For some reason, upon reading this post, a letter to a magazine some time ago sprung to mind. A lady wrote that her husband bought her a drill for her birthday, so she bought him a sewing machine for his

It is also possible to buy the lady in your life a set of knives, golf clubs, a vacuum cleaner or iron. Don't expect to be married very long though.
As for the recession being over, my "local shopping centre" remains mostly mobile phone and charity shops. Lots are unoccupied.
I wonder what the good people of the trafford centre were buying?
I haven't been there since it opened, does the food court still look like the deck of the titanic?

Is that not why wedding dresses are white?
All basic kitchen appliances come in white

You are a brave man Brian :P
Lorian: We have been very lucky so far in Tasmania .. Things have continued almost business as usual during the GFC.. Slight increase in unemployment .. but not many empty shops...

i watch what i say on here, the wife sometimes wonders through the site for a looksee.
-
I only said it was the biggest to initiate a response..... Thanks :D
I used to say that other items were BIG as well, but no-one believed that either.
Buy her a drill.... MMmm, not an option now really, but a missed opportunity :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
Nah, she doesn't know how the magic machine works, or does she?, and isn't letting on. Bugger, I must start clearing the internet memory when I shut down. In fact I'll make it a default setting.
Maybe I'll use the Linux box instead so that, even if someone has shown her how to use winders, she'll be goose'd by the command line, I mean lets face it, most experienced winders users can't get there heads round a command line, can they?
OK my polishing bonnets have arrived so that means that, before the weekend I fully expect that my shiny shiny car to be even MORE shiny
