Title: Warranty issue
Post by: Rabbieboy on June 19, 2019, 08:30:23

I bought a 2 year old I30 with remainder of manufacturer’s warranty and paid for an extra year.
My issue with Arnold Clark is rear o/s door now doesn’t open from inside. The garage said if it isn’t covered by warranty then they will charge a £90 investigation fee! If it stopped working under warranty I assumed it would be covered!! I initially had problems just after buying car: door handles sticking open from outside and they were repaired.
I also have a Renault Captur and with MOT got an advisory saying front n/s fog light was inoperative, so I booked it in NEXT day to have bulb replaced. That morning I checked light and it worked, as well as when turning corner. I phoned Arnold Clark and told them that and their response was if they found it working they’d charge me that £90 fee. Both cars were bought from adjacent garages in Stirling. Not happy, and bulb has been fine!

What reason did they say not covered by warranty?

Tell them they are dreaming! It has to be warranty related so I'd say go ahead. I'd like to see them come up with a reason why it wasn't.  :crazy1:
