Title: Registration Dates (UK)
Post by: The Gonz on August 11, 2019, 02:05:43
I recently suggested in response to a question that we have a reference to what is a '63 plate'. Well I DuckDuckGoed it myself and it has to do with the UK's particular approach to registration. This doesn't serve the global community with clarity, so for the Brits here's the formula:

MAR01 - MAR21 : 01 - 21
SEP01 - SEP21 : 51 - 71

So a 63 plate should be a SEP13 model.

Better still, just refer to the club logo and identify it as FD, GD or PD (in the logo, the oldest is the FD on the left, GD on the right and the newest PD in the middle).

So......,
Does that mean:

Well, given that I arbitrarily chose 21 for easy maths (and because the UK might start up a new post-Brexit scheme :crazy1: ) I guess I can claim to wipe out civilisation in 2022.

The first line of your post is not correct. It should be

Mar 02 - Mar22 : 02 - 22.

An 02 plate is March to August 2002 and a 22 plate will be March to Aug 2022
