Title: i30 FD with speed limit switch
Post by: LemurMort on September 03, 2019, 11:32:19
Anyone have the speed limit function along with the cruise control on FD?
How do you activate it and how does it work?
I'm really curious about this, but haven't found much on this topic.

I kind of miss the opportunity of getting the CC buttons assembly with speed limit option when I was working CC out.

I have it on my i40, I can tell how it works which should be similar.

Cruise sets a speed and maintains it, you can override and accelerate whenever you like and still have it set.

Speed limit is exactly that. You set a speed and you can't accelerate beyond that unless you bury the pedal to the tfloor and activate a detent switch to override which would be in an emergency situation.

Cruise would disengage if the brakes  or clucth were used, speed limiter would remain active.

On my car there's 2 different symbols used for the cruise and speed limit function on one button.

When in doubt find an owners manual and have a read

As far as I know we did not have the speed limiter over here in our FD

That's how I thought it worked. Thanks!
I stumbled on foreign forums on some projects where the guys installed the CC buttons with speed limit, but all they do is post pictures and talk about CC.

That's why we are the best!  :victory:

Actually you were lucky, we can have a thread about cruise control end up being about a wet T-shirt competition...  :snigger:

It does sound awfully familiar now that you've mentioned it.
If we change this to DIY installation of a compartment above the radio and this to modifying power windows to have auto up/down function it really does ring a bell :D
