Hi Everyone, Just a quick question about battery drain. How long would a faulty electronic power steering motor, that is not switching off with the ignition, take to flatten the battery? I've heard of some issues with the i20 pb with similar symptoms resulting in flat batteries. Just a thought.

I would imagine the torque required from power assist would be mildly hungry, probably worse that leaving interior lights on.

Depends upon quality, age and size of battery.
Rough guess 5-7 days if its a good battery.
Irrespective of that amazing Facebook wisdom, the i30 power steering also stays on and drains the battery especially if SAS is not centered.
Indication= With ignition off, the steering will still feel light to turn.
Interim remedy= briefly disconnect and reconnect battery each time you stop driving.
