Title: Car alarm
Post by: Petarh on November 21, 2019, 20:27:20
Hi there, we have just bought a 2009 i30 for my daughters first car. The alarm has started to set itself off randomly and the car is locking and unlocking itself. This only happens during the day. Any ideas on what is happening or how to turn off the alarm as it is the standards anti theft one so there is no switch???

Is the wiring solid or are there dry joints leading to poor earthing? Is the battery voltage healthy? Both can be heat related. Does it happen anywhere or are you getting interference? So many questions, so few answers  :crazy1:

As you say where to start Gonz?

Lets examine heat .
Is it parked in the sun?
Is it parked in the same place?
Can you find shade and see if it persists.
If that changes, what part of the car is exposed.?

Is there a time of day or place the alarm goes off?  ..... Also, see interference related.
