Thousands of PC's worldwide have been left useless by a faulty antivirus update, according to reports.

I wouldn't touch Norton or Macafee with a ten foot pole, everybody I know who has asked my advice has been told Kaspersky.

Even better for me is the University site licence extending to staff home PC's, allowing me to use Sophos.

I'm happy with Norton 360 so far...That was a shocker by McAfee...(I got a trial version of McAfee once and didn't like the interface)

I work for HP now, and this (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/04/26/hp_mcafee_acquisition_speculation/) is not great news

Not a good decision by HP!

I used Norton for a few years, then McAfee which was better (but each year when the new versions come out, the performance changes - not always for the better)
So I have now moved to Kaspersky for all three computers in our home and am so far very happy. Kaspersky certainly lets the computer start up more quickly and I find it more user friendly.
