Title: Hello from sunny Hobart
Post by: SuperBee on January 25, 2020, 23:49:13
Hi, I’m Dave in Hobart, Tasmania.
I’m about 4 months into this GDII SR Premium, around 50000 km on it.
This is the 1st small car I’ve owned since 1984.
Really don’t know what to expect from the i30. It’s very comfortable and handles well, and I’m usually happy when I fill the tank.
I’m just not quite sure it’s the car for me. I bought the Premium because it was such a great price with a long list of features, but I’m seeing that I’m probably not too appreciative of nice things and probably would be happier in something a bit more basic. So I think this one will be back on the market soon.

Ha ha, no, the car has done 50k. I’ve personally only added about 3 k on it. Most of those in 2 runs up to Smithton, which is around 900km round trip.
I must say I did appreciate the comfort features on those trips.

Hi Dave,

Welcome from one of the co-founders who just happens to be a fellow Taswegian. Mind you I'm over 3000 kilometres away in even sunnier Perth where it is 36 degrees today.

I reckon I'd be just enjoying the luxuries if I was you.. won't you take a bath if you trade so soon?

No, I don’t think so. Purchased privately at very good price. It’s a beautiful car and I’m loving it as a driver but after 25 years of very practical, rough and ready vehicles I’m struggling.
I probably won’t move too quickly though. I’ve sold my Hilux old reliable, so now have to think carefully. I really love the handling and comfort of the car, and the 2 litre goes alright if you’re willing to keep some revs on it. Ideally i want something with a bit of go (maybe a bit more than this) and a practical load space. Although it’s possible to fold the rear seats, it’s not a realistic option in the SRP
