A Hyundai paint code pdf is here (http://www.dupontpc.com.au/assets/pdf/Colour/Standox/Hyundai_2011_Range.pdf) and it says NKA is "Phantom Black Pearl", hth :)

Paint code: MAD
Colour: Carbon Grey Mist Metallic
Type: Metallic
Mine is also MAD, but I think it's known as 'Hyper Silver' - I don't like the word 'Hyper', let's replace it with 'Cyan' so it's now officially 'Cyan Silver'.
So far I've picked up two paint pens - one online through http://www.koreanautoimports.com (http://www.koreanautoimports.com) , the other through my local dealership.

And there is bluish hues in my paint as well as greenish hues, but it's primarily a metalic silver. I like wikipedia's explanation of Cyan http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyan) I'd say if you mixed their Dark Cyan with a dark silver then you'd get my car's paint color - hence Cyan Silver

Fair Call .. it's your car afterall :goodjob:

I see on the i40 they've changed the white again to "creamy white"

I just checked and the Mobis paint code that matches MAD is 303.

I see on the i40 they've changed the white again to "creamy white"
And they also have another white...called "white crystal" (Mica) :)

Purely a personal preference, but I'm not into mica or pearl whites.
I like solid whites and the whiter the better :)

are the Czech colours different too the Korean colours? i notice your i30 is a Czech built model,I'm going by the square lower grille. :winker:
-
Hmm, according to my VIN number it's a Korean made model. I took the name 'Hyper Silver' from Shambles PDF listing, but have seen the MAD paint code referred to elsewhere as Carbon Grey Mist Silver as well.

Carbon Grey Mist Metallic is the American name for paint code MAD. I've noticed it is a deep dark metallic silver in the sun and grey when not being shined upon. It was a 2010 colour for USA, but some of the initial 2011 models also come with MAD(like my car :goodjob:). It was discontinued a few months into the 2011 model for "Titanium Gray Metallic" paint code N5S, which looks similiar, but has a tan/brown underneath the silver.
It is rare to see a MAD Carbon Grey Mist Metallic with silver roof rails in USA, most of the gray/silver 2011 i30cw here are Titanium N5S and the much brighter silver "Shimmering Silver Metallic" N3S

Thanks for the info jj :goodjob:

Therein lies my dilemma. How do I order paint for my hypersilver body kit when the plate says MAD? Very confused.

Get it paint matched and mixed by a machine (colour scanner thingy) someone in Adelaide MUST do that.. :undecided:

This link might be handy here. I'm about to get some Aqua blue metallic (T2U) mixed to spray Trish's black rear sensors... and found this comprehensive list.

They have some of the more popular Hyundai colours in a spray can and will mix others at a price.
-
Yeah, I don't need a big can of it for $35, just a touch up stick.
And surely Creamy White would be one of the most popular colours on the road.
I'll check Repco, etc then Hyundai.

Thanks Craig.
I just checked their site - $13.00 for the product but $21.50 postage, so I might try here first. :goodjob2:
-
Yeah postage is always the killer ( those prices will be US as well ), when I got mine it was bundled in with some other products I ordered so there was no extra postage.
-
Just go buy it from your local dealer, Dave...from memory it was around 20 bucks when I bought mine... :goodjob:
-
Dont bother hitting the dealer, Hyundai dont make touch up paints anymore.
Ive tried before at customers request, no go.
-
You never know, some dealers may still have some in stock... :undecided:

It is my wife's current car, I believe it is aqua blue (the paint code on the passenger side door jamb is T2U) hope that helps!
Oh hang on.. you mean not the one in my signature.. yes the one in my Avatar was our 1st of three i30's and the colour is moonlight blue. The code is on here somewhere, I will try and find it.
I'm back it appears to be 9D.
Even in little old Tasmania some paint places can scan your actual duco and do a perfect computer matched mix, which allows for fading or variation in batches.
-
YES that's iiiit !
Gosh you rock ! :happydance:
-
Heres a bit of a headstart on the newest colours.

I need the code for my 2015 i30 in Ara Blue can't seem to find it anywhere on the car

My sister has a 2010 i30 in Glowing Red and the code is HAT

I couldn't find it in this comprehensive site (seems to be only North America maybe)
http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?make=Hyundai&gncl=blue&con=kc&page=11&rows=50 (http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?make=Hyundai&gncl=blue&con=kc&page=11&rows=50)
But most good automotive paint places can match it with a digital scanner (more accurate than a code as it allows for variations in batches and fading, etc.)
-
My hypersilver code is MAD :crazy1:
-
Looks like R3U is the code for ara blue.

It would appear that from this post:
:link: i30 Paint Codes (https://i30ownersclub.com/forum/index.php?topic=5726.msg393223#msg393223)
that the colour for my i30 Tourer is Ash Blue...
Photos of the vehicle I've posted earlier here:
:link: Well my (new to me) i30 GD Tourer (2013)... (https://i30ownersclub.com/forum/index.php?topic=40708.0)
But the Paint Code on the Door Sticker (now that I've checked) is "WAE" and therefore, doesn't match either the Hyundai poster or anywhere else I've looked.
Anyone able to shed any light on this?

When I bought Firty's body kit, the skirts were all in basic white, so I hit SuperCheap for a match. It took a fair bit of Googling across a fair bit of conflicting information to find that my HyperSilver paint code was officially MAD.
